Homestead

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. My grandparents lived on rural a homestead where they managed cabins and kept horses for hunters. I have memories of being a little kid out there- falling off of horses, catching frogs, and hearing coyotes in the distance yipping over the hissing of kerosene lamps.

This series of prints intends to capture the homestead as it occurs to me in memory. Generated from 3D captures, rendered as Gaussian Splats.

The homestead was a five hour drive into the wilderness from the closest town. I learned about the reality of the country life. I witnessed both the beauty of nature, and the harshness of tending to livestock.
